Disappointed about the Arteon's discontinuation and lack of HUDs

My friend just bought a beautiful 2023 Volkswagen Arteon SEL Premium R-Line, which he got as a leftover model. He was really looking forward to the Head-Up Display, but was disappointed to find out that this particular car wasn't equipped with it. Finding a 2023 that did have it proved almost impossible.

It got us talking about why VW discontinued the Arteon in the 1st place after the 2023 model year. It seems like a shame to lose such a stylish car and cool features like the HUD. Has anyone seen any official reasoning from VW about why they decided to drop the entire Arteon lineup?

VW officially discontinued it after the 2023 model year. I think it's bec it just didn't sell well in the U.S.? As for the Head-Up Display, it was not available on U.S. Arteon models, even on the SEL Premium R-Line trim. VW offered it in other markets, but North American versions missed out.

@Terracraft01 Yeah, it's frustrating for sure. The Arteon had such a sleek vibe, and missing features like HUD just made it feel incomplete for U.S. buyers.

It's remarkable how a car that met its design goals was sidelined due to low sales. The HUD omission in U.S. models still feels like a missed opportunity. I know VW's shifting toward SUVs and higher-volume models, but it's hard not to feel like the Arteon deserved more time. Did either of you hear if VW plans to offer HUDs in more trims of their new lineup, or is that still just for top EVs?
