My Arteon is gaslighting me

So I get these random speed alert flashes, its like the car thinks I'm doing a police car chase when I'm barely nudging past 40, and sometimes its annoying that it behaves like this at perfectly legal speeds and the times I want to even push harder, nothing happens then, I thought I could try to predict the anomaly and maybe find a pattern but nah I think its random
I haven't touched the tires, no tune, no radar interference… nothing and this affects me as a road user because its going to make other road users think theres a shot gun driver near them, when I use ACC though, maybe I would turn it off for peace of mind
But for now, I dont know what might be the cause, any ideas, thoughts?

Based on the info you mentioned, it could be a glitch in the speed limit recognition system or false readings from a dirty camera sensor. I think you should maybe check if disabling traffic sign recognition temporarily can help?

How often does the alert go off, and have you noticed if it happens more on certain roads or under specific driving conditions?
