Hey everyone, hoping someone can help my sister out with a problem she's having with her new VW Arteon.

She's trying to use the incar internet service with Cubic Telecom and has signed up for a free trial.

The issue is, she's been trying to get her iPhone and iPad connected and so far, absolutely no luck.
She's been going back and forth with Cubic's support, but still hasn't had any success.

To make things even more confusing, she went to the local VW dealership, and the guy there told her it's not even possible to connect a tablet to the car's internet and that her phone won't connect if CarPlay is running.

This sounds super fishy to her, especially since she had a couple of Insignias before and could easily connect both her phone and a tablet without any issues.

Has anyone else run into this? Is the dealer right, or is there some trick to getting these devices connected? Any tips would be a huge help!

Any luck since your July post? The dealership's information is incorrect. The hotspot is device-agnostic and an iPad can connect to it. The iPhone connection issue stems from using Wireless CarPlay, which occupies the phone's Wi-Fi radio, blocking a second connection to the internet hotspot. Your sister should use a wired USB connection for CarPlay instead. A cable frees the iPhone's Wi-Fi radio to join the Cubic Telecom network. Once the hotspot is enabled in the vehicle's settings, both of her devices should connect properly.
