Paddle shifters replacement

recently discovered that the paddle shifters of the golf r can be replaced and ive been wanting to for quite some time now. Looked it up on youtube and noticed that my arteon does not have the pin that holds the shifter in place like the one shown on youtube. anyone here tried replacing their paddle shifters?

Probably depends on the year, I heard there are pins for arteon before 2018 but no pin for 2019+

Yeah I've looked into this too for my arteon and ran into the same thing, those youtube vids usually show the golf R setup which has that pin style mount, but the arteon (depending on the year) often uses a different clip or screw setup behind the steering wheel. I haven't swapped mine yet, but from what I gathered, you gotta take off the airbag and check the mounting style first before buying any paddles

you're taking off the entire steering wheel along with the airbag regardless of the year, but you're right, there is a difference so even though they look cool I'm not sure if it's worth the risk

Yeah, it can be replaced but then again it's a little tricky. I guess maybe you just need to allot some more time researching and purchasing the parts designed specifically for your Arteon. Or if not, then just find the right adapters.
